11th Annual Destination HBCU: Send-Off
Date: Sunday, June 16, 2024
Time: 2pm - 5pm
Location: Warrensville Heights High School, 4270 Northfield Road, Warrensville Hts., OH 44128
Description: The send-off event is tailored for Cleveland-area freshmen students bound for college and undergraduate upperclassmen returning to a Historically Black College or University for the fall of 2024. Serving as the culmination of the council's yearly dedication to offering comprehensive educational support services, this event aims to assist students in reaching their chosen "Destination HBCU." Through this event and the generosity of our partners and donors, we can sustain the vital work we do in service of both individual and collective educational institutions.
Each year, the group host an annual HBCU College Fair, which attracts nearly 5,000 participants from the greater Cleveland community and beyond – reaching as far as Ontario, Canada. The ultimate intent of the fair is to increase college enrollment among under-served and underrepresented youth. This event is followed by the “Scholars Workshop” to support students and parents through the financial aid and scholarship preparation process. Then to the celebration of graduation and enrollment to the HBCU.
