The UNCF Northern Ohio Inter-Alumni Council with the support of the Cleveland Council of Black Colleges Alumni Association is proud to announce the Northern Ohio Scholars Program Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity, which is funded by the support of the area HBCU alums along with other local benefactors, is offered to current high school seniors, and HBCU-enrolled freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors who are permanent residents of northern Ohio.

The Northern Ohio Scholars Program - Scholarship Guidelines
The UNCF Northern Ohio Inter-Alumni Council with the support of the Cleveland Council of Black Colleges Alumni Association is proud to announce the Northern Ohio Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity, which is funded by the support of the area HBCU alums along with other local benefactors, is offered to current high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are permanent residents of northern Ohio. Special consideration will be given to students who attend or have attended Shaw High School East Cleveland, OH.
All students that are residents of specified zip codes in Northern Ohio are encouraged to apply:
Cleveland, East Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, Lorain, Beachwood, Twinsburg, Solon, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Toledo, Bedford, Maple Heights, Mayfield Heights, Sandusky, Avon, Avon Lake, Mentor, Lakewood, Fairview Park, North Olmstead, Olmstead Falls, Berea, Aurora, University Heights, Macedonia, Chagrin Falls, Parma, Euclid, South Euclid, Strongsville, Huron, Elyria, Warrensville Heights, Westlake, Middleburg Heights, Pepper Pike, Seven Hills, Brookpark, and any city in the Northern Ohio area.
Students must have:
* A 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
* Attending or matriculating at an accredited a UNCF or HBCU fall 2021
* Students must complete the FAFSA and have a need
Program Applicant must submit a:
* Completed online application for the program
* Completed reference form (submitted directly by the recommender)
* 500 word scholarship essay outlining career narrative outlining career aspirations, leadership experiences, and most significant achievements
* Current transcript
Selected students will be awarded in the 2021-2022 academic year.
